How to approach Tao cultivation?

Everyone has different foundation in Tao cultivation, and therefore the approach to Tao cultivation is also different. Generally speaking, one of the easiest and most convenient approaches is to go the Tao prayer hall as often as possible.

Since the Heavenly Tao is protected by Divine beings, there are therefore inconceivable forces in the prayer hall.  This is the reason why when Tao kins go to the prayer hall often, they are like being attracted by a magnet, and do not want to leave the prayer hall. From here, these Tao kins gradually will develop their faith and embark on the path of Tao cultivation.

So why is it that the prayer hall has such huge attraction forces?  This is because the prayer hall is like a pure land, which enables Tao kins, who go to the prayer hall, to naturally feel blissful, pleasant, satisfied, happy, and have unbelievable feeling that words cannot express, and etc. But once they leave the prayer hall, they feel like they have fallen back into the mortal world.

Furthermore, the good behavior shown by the Tao kins in the prayer hall in terms of politeness, modesty, and kindness, will usually impress upon people a feeling of incomparable freshness, and at the same time, inspire them to want to learn. This is the reason why going to the prayer hall is the most appropriate beginning step in Tao cultivation.

When Tao kins go to the prayer hall often, they will naturally be interested in Tao, in propagating Tao, bringing people to receive the Tao, and volunteering for Tao services. In this natural setting, they are able to confirm their faith in Tao as well as put into actions everything that relates to the Tao environment.

As for those who have yet to be interested in the Tao environment, there is no need to push them too hard. So long as they come back to the prayer hall on the first and fifteenth of the lunar month, they will naturally feel that their life is beginning to change. For them, there is no need to insist that they should adopt a certain approach in Tao cultivation. More importantly is to start from activity that they can do and are happy to do.

If we meet those new Tao kins who are stubbornly not willing to come to the prayer hall, we can try to teach them to use the Three Treasures to cultivate and control their body and mind. In addition, we should tell them more about real-life cases of using the Three Treasures, including real stories, to strengthen their confidence in the Tao (try to avoid talking about the theory of Tao which are difficult to understand). So long as they are willing to use the Three Treasures, with more time, they would be able to connect with Divine beings. When that happens, even without prompting, they would naturally be willing to go to the prayer hall.
